What does it mean to eat a "hypoallergenic diet"?

Low allergenic food: Since most foods can cause an allergic reaction, we try to limit diets to as low an allergenic potential as possible. In the most extreme cases this means resorting to low allergenic, Amino Acid based baby formulas such as alimentum. Solid foods with low allergenicity include lamb and rice.
