Goiter.: Thyromegaly is also know as goiter and can be due to many causes, such as iodine deficiency, hyperthyroidism/hypothyroidism (autoimmune graves/hashimoto or not), thyroid masses/cysts, or malignancy.

Different things: A very common cause of diffuse goiter in the us is autoimmune, mostly hashimoto's but also grave's disease. Multinodular goiter, congenital goiter- babies born with goiter for different reasons, iodine deficiency.
