Consider PCOS: Polycystic ovarian syndrome is characterized by elevated androgenic (male) hormones in females. It is potentially treatable and can increase one's risk for Insulin resistance and diabetes. I would recommend you discuss this possibility with your doctor to see if you have any of the symptoms of pcos.
