Not really.: Increased consumption of saturated fat by the pregnant woman can deplete Folic Acid stores in her body and increase the risk of having a fetus with cardiac defect, especially if the mother is obese. Take 1-5 mg of Folic Acid daily if you want to prevent up to 75% of fetal cardiac defects - before conception and for your whole reproductive life.
