A member asked:

What is a hemilaminotomy diskectomy (l4-l5) operation? is it dangerous?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: A l4-5 hemilinotomy is the partial removal of the laminar on either the right or left side of the vertebra. All surgeries have potential complications, but in the hands of a spinal surgeon, the chance of problems are decreased. Would recommend that you seek the care of a board certified orthopedic or neurosurgeon spinal surgeon.
