Carafate (sucralfate): This is used to treat ulcers. It sticks to the ulcer thereby protecting it from the stomach acid and enzymes allowing healing. One could argue that it may have a role in decreasing the pain as it covers/coats the ulcer protecting it. Carafate (sucralfate) is not classed as a pain medication.
