Are there permanent solutions or treatments for pancreatitis?

Treat the cause.: Pancreatitis secondary to gallstones can be prevented by gallbladder removal (although this surgery will have no benefit in the treatment of that particular episode of pancreatitis). Alcoholic pancreatitis can often be prevented by abstaining from any future alcohol intake.

Pancreatitis : It depend which etiology we are dealing with. If it is related to stone disease for instance this can dealt with ERCP and stone extraction, if it is related to chronic pancreatitis, this might require more time and effort, including investigation.
