A member asked:

Can rheumatoid arthritis be helped by tkr?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

What is tkr: A tkr is a only replacement which would come as a part of active rheumatoid arthritis. The total knee replacement is a surgical procedure which is the knee that is severely damaged and cannot recover. When the joint is very damaged a total knee replacement can help. We would prefer to stop the damage with treatment before surgery is necessary.
