RA NOT contagious.: Rheumatoid arthritis is symmetrical inflammatory arthritis, often involving the wrists and first knuckles in the fingers, resulting in redness, swelling, stiffness and pain. Left untreated, rheumatoid arthritis can lead to permanent deformity in joints due to erosion into the bone. There are many successful RA treatments to reduce symptoms and prevent joint damage. RA is not contagious.
