Different types: I would imgaine shoulder pain is not different then a different anatomical location. Often times, a local anesthetic is given and the doctor at his discretion could add a steroid to the injection. Depending if the doctor thinks it is a soft tissue problem he may decide on a "prp injection" which is your own blood spun down and the platelets are reinjected, - this is common in tennis elbow.
