A member asked:

What is an orthopedists? same thing as orthopedic surgeon?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Orthopod, orthopedist, and orthopaedic surgeon are the same doctor. The specialty of orthopaedic surgery involves care of the musculoskeletal system. We're probably best known for fixing fractures (broken bones), joint replacement and arthroscopy. We have fellowships for hand, shoulder&elbow, sports, foot&ankle, spine, oncology (tumor), pediatric and adult reconstuction (joints), and trauma.
