Maxillary sinusitis: Maxillary sinus disease refers to chronic maxillary sinusitis, or long-term inflammation of the mucous membrane lining of the sinus cavity in your upper jaw, or maxilla. It usually results from environmental allergies or obstruction of drainage from the sinus into the nose. It may cause congestion, foul-smelling discharge, or chronic infection. It's usually diagnosed with a ct scan.
