Reduce and repair: A perilunate dislocation tears several ligaments in the wrist. The first step is to put the bones back in their normal positions (closed reduction). Next, the ligaments have to be repaired and the bones pinned in place (open reduction and pinning). The wrist is immobilized for 8-12 weeks. The pins are removed and rehab starts. Recovery is 4-6 months.
