Drainage and cipro (ciprofloxacin): Perichondritis of the ear due to the bacterium pseudomonas aeruginosa can occur after trauma, surgery, or burns. It can also result from ear piercing and acupuncture. Management involves tubal drainage for four weeks and antibiotic therapy, such as oral ciprofloxacin.
