A member asked:

Can you still exercise with a rib fracture?

4 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

It depends: Most rob fractures require relative rest , ice and nsaids. Significantly painful rob fractures may require stronger pain medications. Rib fractures may tale 4 to 8 weeks to heal. Your discomfort may be improved by also wearing a rib belt. Significantly displaced rib fractures will need close monitoring. It depends on the type of exercise and the severity of the rib fracture to determine activity.

Yes: Actually it's encouraged. It will be painful, but it can help keep the lungs expanded and increases blood flow to the area, which speeds up healing.
