A member asked:

Someone spit in my face. is it possible i caught aids from his saliva? can that happen?

No: Saliva can't transmit the disease unless it has blood in it and even then it is unlikely.

No: You can't contract HIV from someone spitting in your face. Hiv does not live in saliva unless for example that person had a bleeding sore in his mouth. Even then, HIV is not a very hearty virus, and does not live well outside the blood stream. It is very very difficult to contract HIV other than through sexual intercourse and IV needle sharing.
