Sclerosing cholangit: Sclerosing cholangitis: recurrent stricturing and scar tissue within the bile ducts (plumbing that drains bile from the liver) leading to recurrent infections in the liver. It can be associated with ulcerative colitis. It is a risk factor for cancer of the bile ducts. It can be serious and should be managed by a liver specialist.

Very serious.: Sclerosis of the liver occurs when scar tissues or regenerative nodules form in the liver and start replacing healthy tissues. Due to this scar tissue formation, the liver losses its ability to produce proteins that regulate blood clotting, control and fight infections, filter blood by removing bacteria and toxins, digest food, store energy, and produce bile that absorb fats including cholesterol
