Very few exceptions: People who are allergic to any part of the hepatitis a vaccine, and children under age 1 year, should not get the hepatitis a vaccine. For children 12-18 months, parents can ask their doctors about when to get the vaccine. People with vaccine allergies or other allergies can discuss the issue with their primary care doctors, to see if they should or should not get the vaccine.
