Antiviral herpes med: Blisters in mouth can be caused by herpes or canker sores. Herpes is chronic and contagious, best treated by oral meds such as acyclovir, valtrex, (valacyclovir) or famvir. Numbing creams can help reduce pain such as anbesol gel, topical lidocaine, blistex, camphophenique. Peroxyl mouthwash help with canker sores.
