If it works for you: Otc cortisone is a good cream for allergic rash, but often too weak for adult skin (quite good/adequate for kids and mild rash). There are many other creams/cortisone-variations will require prescriptions and thus must consult doc. So if rash is mild and otc works well, then it is good for you. Calamide may help as well. If not better, consult dor for a different treatment. Good luck.
