A member asked:

Are there any good allegry medicines besides benadryl (diphenhydramine) for allergy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

OTC allergy meds: Yes, there are. The old standouts are loratidine (claritin) and Cetirizine (zyrtec). This year, fenofexamine (allegra) was introduced. All have been prescription medicines previously and touted as non-sedating. Cetirizine often causes drowsiness so it has to be taken at bedtime; the other 2 can be taken during the day. All are taken once a day.
