A member asked:

What happens to a person with a narcissistic personality disorder from childhood to old age?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Little change: Personality disorders are diagnoses that are made only after age 18. As a rule they tend to be enduring and it is not unusual for the symptoms to last a lifetime. Treatment with psychotherapy can help but a "cure" is not likely.
