Nothing much: You are placed in a MRI machine lying down on your back and in most places given headphones to listen to music. Then the machine will make some loud noises and in about 20 minutes you are done...

Well. a lot happens: You lie down on a table. In some places you go between two narrow plates. In some places you go into a tube. In general the tube machines are superior. You can have a open bore tube which is short or a long tube. Most (94%) prefer the short tube. Tiy hear various banging sounds for 10-45 minutes, some places take an hour. So ask and go to the place which takes less time.
