Restrictive lung : Disease. Kyphosis and scoliosis are causes of restrictive lung disease that may predispose to infections and lung fibrosis.

Yes: Yes. Technically, scoliosis is defined as a spinal curvature in the coronal plane of greater than 10 degrees. Another way to say that is normally the spine viewed from the back is straight and in scoliosis it is curved. All that being said, it is not unusual for patients with scoliosis to have abnormal curves in the sagittal plane. An excessive curve in the thoracic spine is known as kyphosis.
