Often: Brain swelling occurs as a result of the rapidity, the cause, and the size of the stroke. A stroke of equal size but faster onset, than the slower one. The larger the stroke, the more likely is the swelling. Hemorrhagic stroke is more likely to provoke swelling than an equal-sized thrombotic stroke.
