Depends on kind: Dry macular degeneration has no treatment. Depending on the level of damage, certain vitamin supplements have been shown to slow the progression of the disease. Wet macular degeneration can be treated with laser or with injections of drugs into the eye. If discovered quickly, the prognosis is much better than it has been in the past.
