How is latent tb different biologically from the active tb?

TUBERCULOSIS: Latent TB starts as a primary infection.Foci may leave nodular scars in the apices of one or both lungs. Active PTB or reactivation occurs often in lung apices.Lung lesions are cavitary( with hemoptysis) complicated with pleural effusion or pneumothorax.
