Do humidifiers really actually work?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: I have several in my office and get them running when it is cold outside and the heat goes on.If the humidity drops below 20% it irritates airways.People do best if the environment stays between 30-45%.Up north, it is part of the furnace built-ins.In the south, we seldom need it. I rarely recommend them at any other time of the year.
