Diabetic?: Gastroparesis can be caused by diabetes, but there are also non-diabetic causes. If you gastroparesis is not from diabetes, then, you do not need to monitor your blood sugar. However, if you do have gastroparesis from diabetes then you probably should be doing twice daily blood sugars.

Ask your diabetes Dr: The schedule for you checking your blood sugars will not appreciably change just because of gastroparesis. Your diabetes doctor will make a long-term plan for you, and you should stick with that. Certainly, however, if you feel lightheaded or feel that your sugar might be low, you may need to check it additionally. Good luck.
