3X4X5 cm: I tell patients that the size of the ovary in a reproductive aged patient is approx. 3 x 4x 5 cm in length. Its weight is approx. 3 grams. The ovaries shrink after menopause - measuring slightly larger than an almond. Prior to ovulation (the passage of an egg), anywhere up to 10 - 12 follicles (cystic structures that house an egg) develop, contributing to an overall ovary enlargement.

2-3-4: It depends on women's age. In general and for most women, the measurement shoudl be about 2x3x4 cm size. It is little bigger prior to ovulation due to the dominant follicle measures almost 2 cm size.
