Other possibilites: While excessive urination is a symptom of diabetes, depending on how long these symptoms have been going on, you may have a bladder infection or another infection. Fever and chills are not usually symptoms of diabetes.

You may have a: Urinary tracy infection. Poorly controlled diabetes will cause frequent, large volume urination but should not cause fever and chills.
