No: No same disease have been around for ever however the country is better at picking up outbreaks and the press better at reporting them and alerting the public ..

No: The same bacteria are causing food borne illnesses. The foods are processes more in larger factories and this can change the prevalence of contamination. We hear more an out this in the media these days. Locally grown and processed foods tend to be better.
