Several ways: 1) clinical exam, using scopes (laryngoscope, nasoscope) 2) imaging: this includes computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, angiography, ultrasound, among others 3) laboratory studies of blood components 4) always a biopsy is done to prove the diagnosis.
