A member asked:

How do you get a teenager out of a depressive state?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Professional help: Teenagers can be at particularly high risk for depression and suicide. Seek professional help immediately from your child's doctor first. He or she may recommend your child to an adolescent therapist who can help him work on these issues. Some teenagers may need medication which can be monitored by an adolescent psychiatrist or, in some cases, a primary care physician.
