Support: If you're down a deep well, it is probably better if some one throws you a rope than trying to claw your way back up. But depressed people often don't see the utility of helping hands, because "nothing will help" without the desire to get better, you won't. Low budget answer--ask for help, then accept it (from skilled, caring people).
