How do you stop your hand swelling up after you hit a wall?

Ice and elevation: Use ice and elevation and if it persists or there is significant pain and swelling, see your pcp or an orthopedist. A light compression dressing such as a lightly wrapped ace bandage may help. Don't take a chance, get it checked out.
