Should be: Pressure on a nerve for a prolonged period of time can result in temporary numbness and/or paralysis. Depending on the amount and duration of pressure, symptoms usually resolve spontaneously. If symptoms persist after a day or so, see your doctor for an evaluation.

Digital Neuropraxia: Neuropraxia of the digital nerve is a very likely cause, from the lack of blood to the nerve from pressure. It should resolve in about 2-3 weeks.
