No, but...: ...They should not drive (or "operate heavy machinery" like the labels always list). Furthermore, it is advisable to have an adult stay with them overnight.

No. : We give general anesthesia for outpatient procedures all the time. The issues that determine an overnight stay are the type of surgery, duration of surgery, and underlying medical condition of the patient.
