T.e.n.s pain relief machine has anyone ever used one for tmdand did it work?

Limited: As a surgeon, i don't use tens units for TMJ treatment. Those with the greatest experience would be dentists who specialize in management of TMJ problems. I would say that tens therapy has limited applicability.

Helpful: I use ultra low frequency tens to relax the muscles of the face prior to taking a bite for TMJ treatment appliances. It is different than the type of tens used for pain management. Ulf tens alone is of limited value. The bite appliance keeps the muscles relaxed and the jaw on a proper path of closure, key issues in the management of patients withtmd.

Yes it can: Depending upon the diagnosis it can be effective. Tmd is not a diagnosis but tens can be effective with muscle pain or a diagnosis of myalgia.
