Dr. Pam Yoder answered

Leaking BOW b4 labor: In obgyn we use a lot of abbreviations. Prom is premature rupture of membranes or leaking of fluid from the amniotic sac before onset of labor. Bow is bag of waters or sac containing amniotic fluid and baby. B4 is, well, before. So if there is suspected leakage of fluid or continuous feeling of dampness in vagina/vulva, a pregnant woman should be seen by ob. Risk of infection can rise every hour.
