Normal development: Baby girls frequently have a white mucousy fluid in the vaginal area in the newborn time. This is perfectly normal and due to hormone changes. Just clean it gently with a damp cloth but do not scrub since the diaper area is very delicate. It will continue for a while and then gradually stop appearing.
