A member asked:

Are both rheumatism and lymphoma connected to the immune system?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sort of...: Rheumatism is a general term for aches and pains. I'm wondering if you mean "rheumtoid arthritis", a specific kind of joint problem that is related to autoimmunity--and that's a kind of overactivation of the immune system. Lymphoma is a cancer of a specific type of blood cell--the white blood cells called lymphocytes that are part of the immune system.
