BCIR AND SEX: The bcir is a surgically-created pouch, or reservoir, on the inside of the abdomen, made from the last part of the small intestine (the ileum), and is used for the storage of intestinal waste. In a book edited by russel d cohen md, it describes the treatment and complications of inflamatory bowel disease. This is an excellent book on the subject of your questions but in general the answer is no.

Dr. Jay Singh answered

Not the pouch: The operation that removes the rectum and and the rest of the colon can be complicated by both retrograde ejaculation as well as erectile dysfuction due to two sets of nerves that can be injured while operating. The pouch itself is not the problem. If present after ther operation it would be wise to see a urologist.
