Most likely no: Barnett continent intestinal reservoir surgery allow you to have an internal pouch rather than an external colostomy bag. Transfusion of blood will depend on amount of bleeding during procedure and baseline status of you hemoglobin levels. If your hemoglobin drops to <6 g/dl and have low oxygen levels with symptoms, you will most likely need a blood transfusion.
