Herniated disc: This is complex. Just having herniated discs does not mean pain medication. Your doctor must have a clear reason to provide pain meds. If he feels that based on his findings meds or med increases is not indicated then he is quite correct. On the other hand he may feels that giving more med may be more harmful to you than tolerating the current pain you have.
