A member asked:

I would guess vitamins are good but what about specific foods to eat when you have a fracture? calcium foods?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Minerals, Protein: Bone is about 70% minerals by weight - calcium, phosphorous, silicon, and more. Healing requires a ready supply of these minerals. High calcium foods are essential, like yogurt, almonds, canned salmon (with bones), collard greens. Almost half of bone is protein, so you need extra protein following a fracture. Avoid sugar, salt, alcohol, and cigarette smoking.
