Trapezius: Pain along the top of your shoulders and toward the neck suggests irritation of the top edge of the trapezius muscles. You stress those muscles when you lift weight from below in a rowing motion. It's not necessarily bad if it's from exercise. Try a warm, damp towel around the back of your neck and over your shoulders. Also Acetaminophen or aspirin. If worsening see doctor.
