hello, i have shoulder pain when i raise my arm up and outwards from my body. like a star jump motion. most other motions cause no pain at all. ?

Rotator cuff?: The arm motion described sounds like abduction. The most common cause of painful abduction is related to the rotator cuff, frequently called impingement. There are other causes of pain as well. If symptoms continue, consult with a shoulder surgeon.

Impingement: You probably have what is known as impingement; would need to be evaluated may require an arthrogram to be sure; would however try pt first along with anti inflammatory drugs before any invasive tests.
