Eczema?: Sometimes a very hot prolonged shower can worsen eczema. The temperature change may induce itching too.

Removal of skin oils: Showering and soap remove protective skin oils and can result in skin itching afterwards. Also mast cells in the skin can release histamine due to scrubbing, heat or other irritants to the skin.
