A member asked:

Is it possible for your hdl cholesterol to be too high and cause some heart or arteries problem?

No: Hdl (high-density lipoprotein) is actually not a cholesterol product at all, but a protein that carries cholesterol away from blood vessels. There are no studies indicating too high of a level.

No: As far as we know, HDL protects your arteries from damage.

HDL: There is more than one kind of hdl. One that is cardioprotective and one that is relatively neutral in that regard. Noe is proatherogenic.
